In the northeast region of Oregon dry land and irrigated wheat is farmed. The states farmers also produce cattle, sheep, dairy products, eggs and poultry.

The major employer in Oregon is the high tech and service industries since the 1970’s. The world headquarters of Nike are located near Beaverton. The state is famous for having one of the country’s premium salmon fishing industries.
