With a call diversion service, what happens to calls that go unanswered?

This depends on whether you have an associated live call answering service or voicemail-to-email service with AnsweringService.com.  If so, either:

  1. Your calls will divert again for one of our receptionists to answer the call.
  2. Any voicemail message left by the caller will be emailed to you immediately.

If you do not have any of these additional solutions in place, any unanswered calls will be managed by whatever existing solutions you have in place. As an example, typically on a cell phone, an unanswered call would go through to the telecommunication provider’s own voicemail service.

What are common reasons to consider a call diversion service?

A call diversion service can provide a simple, fast and economical way for a business to appear larger or to expand its presence interstate or nationally. For example:

  • Maintaining privacy of a cell phone number when operating a business from your personal phone (by advertising a different number, but diverting that number to your cell phone).
  • Targeting customers in a certain city or state (by advertising a local number, but diverting that number to the number at your existing business premises wherever you’re based or to a cell phone).
  • Targeting customers nationally (by advertising a toll-free number, but diverting that number to the number at your existing business premises wherever you’re based or to a cell phone).

An entrepreneur who runs several businesses, each with their own advertised number, can also use a call diversion service to have calls for all businesses answered on a single number (whether a cell phone or a number at physical business premises).

How does a call diversion service work?

A call diversion service enables you to advertise one number for your business but take calls on a different number, for example your personal cell phone and you want to keep that number private.  In such a scenario, customers and other callers phoning the business will only ever know the advertised number, yet the business owner will be able to see whether or not an incoming call is connected to their business.

How will I be able to access voicemail messages sent via email?

A voicemail message will be sent via email as a .wav file attachment immediately after someone leaves you a new voicemail.  To access, you simply need to open the email and double-click on the .wav file.  This will then play the voicemail message through your computer or cell phone audio.

You will also be able to save your voicemail messages for record-keeping purposes or forward them on to anyone within your company who may need to act on it, just as you would with any other email message.

What’s the benefit of a voicemail-to-email service?

Voicemail is an electronic audio recording of a message left by a caller, commonly used on cell phones.  Our Voicemail-to-Email service enables voicemail messages to be sent to you by email.  This way no voicemail is ever unintentionally missed and you can save messages for as long as you need.

What are some of the benefits of using a telephone answering service?

Virtual receptionists ensure that your customers, or prospective customers, always connect with a real person when they call – instead of being directed to voicemail and hanging up, regardless of the time of day or night.  At a fraction of the cost of an in-house receptionist, a 24/7 call answering service like AnsweringService.com can prevent missed calls, increase customer satisfaction, assist in capturing more leads and help prevent lost business opportunities.

That all adds up to a strong probability of more revenue generation, all while saving you or your team valuable time … and while keeping expenditure to a minimum.

Consider that an in-house receptionist is likely to still miss calls during breaks and after-hours, including on their weekends and on holidays.  Then there’s sick days and vacation time when you need to somehow cover their absence.  Yet stacked up next to paying a full-time receptionist’s salary plus any benefits, not to mention recruitment and training costs, AnsweringService.com’s solutions are extremely cost-effective for businesses of any size.

Why should I consider a toll-free number?

A toll-free number is ideal if you want to advertise your business nationally or allow callers to contact you at no charge.
